Celebration Weekend

This weekend we had a lot to celebrate! Saturday was my birthday, Sunday was Father's Day, and today is Trista's second birthday. My parents came down for the weekend to help us celebrate, and we had fun playing games and hanging out.

I bought a small pool for the kids last week and on Saturday it was finally sunny enough for them to use it. Who knew they could have so much fun with a foot and a half of water?

On Sunday after church Matt and Crystal joined us all for dinner, so we had three fathers in the house to celebrate their day with us! Since we couldn't be with all the dads we love, we want to send a Happy Father's Day shout out to our Dads and Grandpas who we couldn't be with yesterday. We love you Grandpa Post, Great Grandpa Post, Great Grandpa Salmon, and Great Grandpa Smith! We're so blessed to have so many great men in our lives to look up to!

After dinner we celebrated Trista's birthday with cake and ice cream.

For all of you wondering about her answers on yesterday's blog--yes, two is her favorite answer right now. We've been quizzing her lately on how old she would be on her birthday, and of course the answer is two. She now thinks that "two" is the best answer for every question! As a family we have a lot of fun with it by asking her all sorts of math questions that have "two" for an answer.

"Trista, what's 1 + 1?"
"Two!"
"What is 1 x 2?"
"Two!"
"What is 10 - 8?
"Two!"
"What is 690,456 / 345,228?"
"Two!"

She's a genius! Happy Birthday Trista! We love you and we're so glad you're part of our family!

Happy Birthday Trista! Jacob's sorry he missed the party, especially the pool party as he loves to do a big "plop" into the water and see it splash!
