Trip to Kentucky

Last week the kids and I took a roadtrip to Kentucky to visit my sister Becca, her husband Brad, and their little one, Jacob. We loaded up Tuesday evening and drove two hours to my parents' house in Missouri to spend the night. Then we hit the road on Wednesday at 8:00 am and made it to Louisville just after 6:00 pm. We caravanned with Angie and her five kids, so the kids switched out vehicles on each of our stops and stayed pretty content.

Our first activity was a trip to the park on Thursday. The kids had a lot of fun playing together.

On Friday we had a blast going to a Atlantis, a waterpark with waterslides, a wave pool, and a kiddie area with shallow water and small slides. We packed a lunch and stayed for about four hours, definately long enough to wear us all out. I didn't take my camera with me, but you might check Angie or Becca's blogs in the near future for pictures.

On Friday Angie took her gang to the Lousiville Slugger bat museum while Becca and I and our kids hung out at home and rested. In the evening we went on a quick outing to the mall where I let each of the kids choose a small toy or treat. Alexis chose a Webkinz, which she had been dying for and bugging me about for months, Spencer chose a watch, which he too has been asking for unceasingly, and Dallin and Trista chose a Ring Pop and Skittles, respectively.

The kids were all really good on the trip and enjoyed spending time with their cousins. Now that Carley, Chuck, and Nate are here we're looking forward to next summer when Becca and Brad move closer and Angie and Dustin return from Costa Rica so that all the cousins will live nearby. We're also looking forward to our trip to CA in three weeks to see Grandma and Grandpa Post and two other cousins, Kylie and Brianna. Isn't family great?!

We had such a good time with you guys. Jacob sure loved hanging out with his cousins. I think he misses Trista & Dallin (who played with him the most). We're also excited to move back and be closer to everyone :)
